Lakeshore Services

The outdoor lakeside services of worship began during the summer of 1970 under the direction of Rev. Clarence L. Richardson who conducted the early morning services beside the lake for eight years. The members of Macedonia felt that an outdoor ministry would be helpful in providing a summer service to the surrounding population. Today, thirty summers later, these outdoor services have grown much in popularity and attendance.

For the past eleven summers students from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia have assisted with campground visitation at nearby Billy Dreher Island State Park and also help conduct the summer services.

Worshippers come by boat, car, or on foot to sit beneath the shady trees along the beautiful waterfront.
